"WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR THIS WONDERFUL PARTNERSHIP WHICH ALLOWS US TO SHARE BOOKS IN THE CLASSROOMS IN MADAGASCAR - WHERE WE CAN MAKE AN IMPACT!"
CONSERVATION FUSION
Currently, 1500 copies of the first book, 'One Turtle and all the Rubbish', and the second book, 'Where has all the soil gone?', have been printed and disseminated to schools across Madagascar. The third book, 'Trees of Change', has been written, illustrated, and is currently in editing.

We are currently working with schools in central and southwest Madagascar. The Toliara region, in the southwest of Madagascar, is the poorest region of the country, with most communities along the coast relying on subsistence fishing. Vakoka Vakiteny have previously worked with many schools in Antananarivo, Antsirabe and Fianaratsoa. The wonderful Ms Hanta, who is part of the Vakoka Vakiteny team, does an amazing job at delivering the books across the country and teaching children how make them last.
We are always looking to expand the number and locations of the schools we work with, as well as continue to collaborate with the many inspiring NGOs around the country.
Although we do think it is important to tailor the subject of the book to the location of the school, all the books, no matter what their content, provide opportunities for children to improve their literacy and reading skills as well as learn about the diversity of nature.
WHERE DO THE BOOKS GO?

Conservation Fusion are a wonderful education, conservation and sustainable development NGO working in Lavavolo and Ranomafana. They prioritise providing children with good quality environmental education through creative lessons and field trips. They are a constant source of inspiration for me!

"Collaborative partnerships are at the heart of everything we do! Special thanks to the incredible Beth Dickens and her vision for the story of Fano- the sea turtle who helps us learn about plastic pollution in our oceans."

REEF DOCTOR NGO & IFATY EPP
Reef Doctor was the NGO I interned and worked for. They do incredible work in creating sustainable alternative livelihoods, such as seaweed farming, sea cucumber farming and agroforestry, as well as coral reef conservation and comanaging the local marine protected areas alongside the local fishermen. They have a number of education initiatives, including environmental, literacy and health, hygiene and family planning.
Reef Doctor is located next to the rural vezo village fishing of Ifaty, where one small primary school tries its best to provide education to all children from the village.

MASTER SCHOOL AND
MADA' IMPACT SCHOOL
Both Solo, who runs Master School, and Carol, who runs Mada' Impact School, are both passionate in providing good quality education to the poorest regions of Toliara city. Master School provides general primary education and Mada' Impact provides environmental education workshops and field trips to the surround spiny forest and mangroves.
"Thank you so much for the books, they are very important for teaching children to protect our environment. We look forward to the next ones."

MANGILY EPP
Mangily is a beautiful rural coastal village which relies on subsistence fishing and tourism. They have a primary and secondary school which caters for both Mangily and the surrounding villages, however they greatly struggle with a shortage of educational material and teachers. I hope these books and their self explanatory illustrations will go a way to providing environmental education.
